Scientific software engineer is required to join a cutting edge research company with a strong focus on molecular genetics and biotechnology. Situated in the Netherlands (with head office in the USA), my client is an international operating biotechnology company focusing on the development of cutting edge genetic information.
Working alongside the Bioinformatics team you will be responsible for the extension of the companies’ platform and the development, implementation and testing of their commercially available suites. The ideal candidate will have a solid background in IT with exposure to Java, Perl and .NET (VB.NET C#.NET is Beneficial). This is an amazing opportunity to work with high quality technologies on a wide range of organisms amongst one of the world’s leading companies in the field of genetic and genomic research.
Requirements: The successful candidate will be educated to at least Bsc level in Computer Science, Physics or similar discipline. You will have strong experience with OO Programming (preferably (VB).NET or Java) with extensive knowledge of client-side programming. You must feel comfortable developing in a team with an interest in software engineering techniques (a.o. design patterns)
