A World renowned biotechnology company in the Netherlands has a fantastic new opening for a Linux/Windows System Administrator. My client is an international operating biotechnology company focusing on the development of cutting edge genetic information. The successful candidate will be Installing and organising servers whilst Implementing and developing the modifications of the company’s network and server environment. Other tasks will include taking care of the system’s documentations and assisting or supplying 2nd and 3rd line support with occasional 1st line support.
As the System Administrator you will also participate in thinking about technical solutions for new developments in projects. You will be working closely with the ICT team but also on individual projects. The ICT team divides the different helpdesk, server and networking tasks by mutual agreement.
The ideal candidate will be educated to degree level in a technical discipline with experience in administration, implementation, organisation and maintenance of server systems (RedHat, Linux and Windows2003). Experience of user applications with knowledge of virtualisation solutions (server, client and storage) is essential.
To succeed in this role you must be confident, flexible, pro-active and customer-oriented. Knowledge of network topoly and techniques is preferable; along with experience or knowledge of SAN solutions.
