Hardware/Software Engineer ‘Medical Device Experience Essential’ Cambridge C++
A senior hardware/software engineer is required to join a market leading medical device company in Cambridge. Working alongside a first class team of software engineers you will be developing market leading products that raise the standard of critical healthcare around the world.
The successful candidate will be working on the design and development of electronic circuitry, software and firmware for cutting edge medical devices. You will helping to contribute to the specifications of products and to generate software, hardware and firmware specifications, including risk and hazard analysis.
Collaborating with other team members on internal and external development projects, you will help plan, organise and carry out test program’s to evaluate the products and designs whilst generating reports in line with company procedures.
The ideal candidate will have a minimum of three years commercial experience within the medical device industry, ideally in the design and development of electronic hardware/ software for both embedded and low noise sensor systems.
To be successful in this position, you will have significant experience in analogue and digital electronics design, including: prototyping, development and EMC prevention, testing and regulatory approvals. Software development experience with C, C++, and Microchip series of processors would be highly advantageous. It is essential you have experience in the development of medical devices and working with quality systems e.g. ISO.
Knowledge of the following would be highly desirable:
•Experience in the designing and simulating of electronic circuits using CAD-tools; knowledge of Altium designer (Protel) would be of advantage
•Development experience of mixed-signal application-specific integrated circuits
•Ability to create, evaluate and develop their own designs through prototyping and experimentation to meet challenging specifications;
•Ability to work hands-on” in a laboratory environment;
•Experience in identifying and working with suppliers;
•Experience in evaluating designs using external test facilities;
•Significant experience in the development of medical device.
