Manager- Product Development Cell Therapies- Scotland
An excellent opportunity has arisen for a Manager Cell Therapies to join a leading cell therapy company based in Scotland. As an organisation their focus is on developing innovative cell based products for treatment of cancer, and they conduct GMP manufacturing through to clinical research, in-house. With continued growth, funding and success it is an ideal time to be joining them.
You will act as a Manager in the Product Development Team and provide specialist knowledge for projects focused on cell therapy product development. You will also lead development, troubleshooting and optimisation of cell culture processes. Key responsibilities will include-
-Establishing cell therapy processes, both theoretically and practically for the development of products.
-Training and supervision of junior team members.
-Apply expertise across a range of practical skills, including primary cell culture, flow cytometry and cryopreservation of cell banks
*Performing cell isolation from both healthy donors and patient-derived materials.
*Performing cell culture of primary immune cells, cancer cells and immortalised cell lines.
*Performing functional cell based assays such as cytotoxicity assays and proliferation assays.
*Designing and performing multiparameter flow cytometry experiments.
*Developing SOPs for cryopreservation of donor-derived material and for the generation and clinical application of an allogeneic cell bank.
*Devising assays to Quality Control the final cell therapy product and liaising to transfer release assays to other departments.
*General lab maintenance and complying with GMP.
To be considered for this position you must be educated to PhD level in a relevant subject such as immunology/oncology. This educational background will be coupled with extensive experience of cell therapies within industry. Management or supervisory skills would be ideal. On a technical level you must have strong experience of:
-Cell culture, cell based assays and flow cytometry
-An understanding of crypopreservation and scale-up
-GXP procedures within cell therapy
