Statistical Epidemiologist – Senior Scientist

A fantastic new opportunity has become available for a Statistical Epidemiologist to join a world-leading genomics company in Cambridgeshire. You will be joining a talented group of research scientists as a Senior Scientist, assessing the burden and cause of chronic diseases among populations to develop and apply real-world evidence with a strong focus on global health.
This role would suit someone with a PhD and several years’ Postdoc work who has a strong statistical background within Epidemiology/Health Informatics/Electronic Health Records and would like to apply their skills set to a Genomics company.
Your main responsibilities as a Statistical Epidemiologist will involve:
-Analysing real-world data using electronic health records (EHRs)
-Providing statistical analysis, input and support of research studies (planning statistical analyses of longitudinal real-world data, identifying appropriate research questions and statistical methods)
-Data harmonisation and curation of complex heterogeneous data
-Conducting data analyses of multi-level clustered data
-Providing statistical input to protocols, study reports and papers for publication
The ideal Statistical Epidemiologist should meet the following requirements:
-Educated at degree level (PhD preferred) in Epidemiology, Medical Statistics or related discipline, with sufficient knowledge in Statistics and Clinical Epidemiology
-Substantial experience conducting statistical analyses with large RWD/HER datasets in the UK (knowledge and understanding of structure/format of EHR databases
-Substantial experience of conducting statistical analyses with large-scale longitudinal epidemiological data
-Experience of the following: statistical analysis, input, data manipulation, analysis plans, study design, sample siz/power calculations
-Ability to report and interpret findings from statistical analyses to a range of audiences
-Substantial experience conducting epidemiological analyses in R or equivalent software
As a Senior postholder you will also contribute statistical support to other global health research projects within the group. This role provides the unique opportunity to lead large-scale epidemiological studies involving statistical analyses of millions of individuals.
